Association Between Cardiovascular Autonomic Neuropathy and Left Ventricular Dysfunction

چکیده
Methods Indices of LV structure and function were obtained by cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMRI). CAN was assessed by cardiovascular reflex testing (R-R response to paced breathing, Valsalva ratio, and blood pressure response to standing). Analyses were performed in 966 DCCT/EDIC participants with valid CMRI and CAN data (mean age 51 years, 52% men, mean diabetes duration 29 years, and mean glycosylated hemoglobin 7.9%).

Association between cardiovascular autonomic neuropathy and left ventricular hypertrophy in diabetic haemodialysis patients.
BACKGROUND Patients with diabetic nephropathy are likely to have neurological complications including cardiovascular autonomic dysfunction, which is related to increased risk of mortality. We investigated whether cardiovascular autonomic neuropathy is associated with left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) in diabetic haemodialysis patients. METHODS Holter electrocardiography was carried out for 2...
متن کاملCardiovascular Autonomic Neuropathy Is an Independent Risk Factor for Left Ventricular Diastolic Dysfunction in Patients with Type 2 Diabetes
AIM This study aimed to evaluate the association between cardiovascular autonomic neuropathy (CAN) and left ventricular diastolic dysfunction (LVDD) in type 2 diabetes patients. METHODS 315 type 2 diabetes patients from inpatients of Drum Tower Hospital were included and classified into no CAN (NCAN), possible CAN (PCAN), and definite CAN (DCAN) based on cardiovascular autonomic reflex tests....
متن کاملImpact of autonomic neuropathy on left ventricular function in normotensive type 1 diabetic patients: a tissue Doppler echocardiographic study.
Cardiovascular autonomic neuropathy (CAN) is one of the most serious complications of diabetes and has been weakly linked with left ventricular (LV) diastolic dysfunction. Previous studies that explored this association either suffer from inadequate definition of CAN or have mainly used conventional Doppler or nuclear techniques to investigate LV diastolic function. Tissue Doppler imaging (TDI)...
متن کاملCardiovascular Autonomic Neuropathy and Subclinical Cardiovascular Disease in Normoalbuminuric Type 1 Diabetic Patients
Cardiovascular autonomic neuropathy (CAN) is associated with increased mortality in diabetes. Since CAN often develops in parallel with diabetic nephropathy as a confounder, we aimed to investigate the isolated impact of CAN on cardiovascular disease in normoalbuminuric patients. Fifty-six normoalbuminuric, type 1 diabetic patients were divided into 26 with (+) and 30 without (-) CAN according ...
متن کاملAssociation between Left Ventricle Sympathetic Innervation and Torsion in Patients with Type 1 Diabetes
Introduction In type 1 diabetes (T1DM), left ventricular (LV) dysfunction often precedes significant coronary artery disease or hypertension. Cardiac autonomic neuropathy (CAN) is associated with an increased prevalence of silent myocardial ischemia and is an independent risk factor for cardiac mortality. Longitudinal studies of CAN subjects have shown 5 year mortality rates between 16-50% (1),...
